The new logo draws inspiration from the library’s iconic architecture, specifically the geometric form of its floor plan. This design not only pays homage to the library’s historical significance but also functions flexibly as a standalone mark, adaptable across various applications.
The color scheme is inspired by the restoration efforts post the 1986 fire, symbolized by the black and yellow tones. These colors evoke resilience and renewal, mirroring the spirit of the Los Angeles Central Library as it continues to serve as a beacon of knowledge and culture.
Identity elements are meticulously crafted to ensure a cohesive visual identity. From signage to print materials, each touchpoint reinforces the library’s mission to be both a guardian of history and a forward-thinking institution.
